Salesforce Dev Role Wants AI Copilot Skills, Not Just Code
A long-term remote contract for Salesforce developers is putting AI-assisted coding front and center — and it's open to talent in the US and Canada.
A global company hiring through Toptal is looking for experienced Salesforce developers ready to work full-time on a remote basis for at least a year. The catch — or rather, the draw — is that this isn't a traditional dev role. AI copilots and coding agents need to be part of your daily workflow, not something you've dabbled with once or twice.
On the technical side, you'll need solid hands-on experience across Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce Flow. The role also involves API integrations, MuleSoft-facing work, and a genuine understanding of Salesforce security considerations like sharing rules, bulkification, and governor limits. Git-based workflows and pull request reviews are expected as standard practice.
What makes this position stand out is its explicit focus on AI-augmented delivery. The team wants someone who already uses AI tools daily for writing code, running tests, and producing documentation — and who knows how to critically review what those tools spit out before anything goes near production. That combination of AI fluency and quality control judgment is increasingly what separates strong candidates in this space.
The role requires at least six hours of daily overlap with the US East Coast, so applicants from elsewhere in the Americas or Europe with flexible schedules may also be well-positioned. Experience level sits in the three-to-six-plus years range, making this a fit for mid-to-senior developers rather than those just starting out.
