If you've spent years wrangling Kubernetes clusters and building the kind of internal infrastructure that lets other developers move fast without breaking things, this role is worth a look. Proxify, a Swedish tech recruiter, is sourcing a Senior Platform Engineer on behalf of one of their clients — and the work is squarely focused on building an Internal Developer Platform from the ground up.

The core of the job is treating the developer platform as a product rather than a support function. That means designing self-service tooling, automating CI/CD pipelines, and putting guardrails in place so that product teams can ship independently without constantly leaning on infrastructure folks. It's the kind of role where your output is other engineers' productivity.

On the technical side, the bar is high. You'll need at least five years of hands-on platform, SRE, or DevOps experience, plus strong Kubernetes chops — including custom controllers, operators, and service meshes like Istio or Linkerd. GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux are expected, as is solid experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi across major cloud providers. Go or Python skills round out the must-haves for building custom platform extensions and CLI tooling.

For nomads or remote workers based in or compatible with European time zones, this type of platform-focused role tends to offer genuine autonomy — the work is largely async-friendly by nature, and companies building IDPs generally understand how distributed engineering teams operate.
