Mercury Is Hiring a Remote AML Investigator Across the US

Fintech startup Mercury is adding to its financial crime team — and the role can be done fully remote from anywhere in the United States.

Mercury, the banking platform built for startups, is on the hunt for a senior AML investigator to join its growing compliance team. The position can be based in San Francisco, New York, Portland, or fully remote within the US — making it a solid option for nomads with a background in financial crime.

The role sits inside Mercury's Anti-Money Laundering Investigations team, which handles everything from transaction monitoring to full financial crime investigations. Day-to-day, you'd be working through monitoring queues, managing cases, responding to bank partner information requests, and writing up Unusual Activity Reports when something looks off.

What makes this interesting beyond the remote flexibility is the scope. Mercury is still actively building out its case management tools and internal processes, so whoever steps into this role will have real input on how the function takes shape — not just executing someone else's playbook.

If you have a compliance or financial crime background and want to stay remote while working on infrastructure that affects real businesses, this is worth a look. AML experience and comfort with ambiguity seem to be the core requirements.
